Hirpora Wildlife Sanctuary

Hirpora Wildlife Sanctuary (33.30-33.42 Latitude and 74.33-74.43 E Longitude) falls in the Shopian District of the Kashmir Valley and is one of the only two protected areas in J&K where you can get to see the largest wild goat of the World-The Markhor (Capra Falconeri).Besides,the sanctuary is home to around 20 otrher species of mammals and 125 species of birds.

March to November

How to reach:

Hirpora is located about 70km South of Srinagar.The nearest airport is the srinagar International Airport which is about 75km away.Shopian is just 12km from the sanctuary and is well connected to the state summer capital,srinagar.
